Wonderful Windrivers Backpack 09

Windrivers Backpacking Trip: Memorial Day Weekend 2009
Friday night we drove to Elkhart Park, north of Pinedale, Wyo. Here we spent the night in preparation for the hike. Saturday morning we gathered and started our hike.

Here is our team; Landon and Dean Foust

Shane and Kenzie; fish un-named......

Wild man Wangsgard: Tyler

Scott Diamond and fish

Melanie Wangsgard and Adrian Diamond; doing what they do best=Smiling :)

The OLD man of the mountains: Grandpa, Dad, Keith Stratford, Jr.

First rest stop and first aid station; Mel got a few ouch es on her feet.:(
mile: 3
What we saw, beautiful lakes, trees
and
Beautiful Women..... wheres your make up Kenz???
Oh you don't need any in the mountains!
The weather was perfect. Mid 70's, light breeze and rained most nights from midnight to 2am.
Very few mosquito's, which was a blessing.

Is this really the Titanic??
How did you get this past the pack check?
After Eight miles we finally made it to camp at Junction Lake
[Who brought the Advil???]
After a good night rest [well sorta] we took a day hike up to Brooke lake.
Bolder hopping.

Landon, Adrian and Sue the wonder dog.
You might wonder why a normal, semi intelligent man would wade into a raging, 50deg, mountain stream..... well, he lost his favorite fishing lure.
[ya gotta be a fisherman to understand this]
After a long hike, a nice swim in a mountain lake feels great.
Are there any man [woman] eating trout in this lake??
Would you trust your stomach to this guy???
Scott our great fisherman.

Anyone hungry???
How about a Roasted Stocking sandwich?
Ok, this looks better.
Mushrooms anyone? Are these things eatable?
Shane will eat anything.... well almost.
How about a Hot Dog?
Well, we made it back safe and mostly sound. 25+ miles, a few sore muscle and feet, but not too bad. We had a great trip, weather was perfect and the company was great. Thanks everyone for helping to make this a great trip.
Happy Trails.
